Amanda Hamilton: Teacher Spotlight

Teacher Spotlight time!

This fabulous first-grade teacher is another #hometownhero!

Amanda graduated from Putnam County in 2007 and has never lived anywhere else. She says, "this will always be home and where my heart is."

Mrs. Hamilton tells us, "I graduated from Putnam County thinking a career with numbers and computers would best suit me. I attended Northwest Missouri State University and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Then I started an office job after substitute teaching during college. I ended up missing the classroom so much. I did not feel fulfilled sitting at a desk all day, so I went back to school at Graceland College for a Bachelor of Science in Elem Education. Then I earned my Master's of Arts degree in Teaching and Technology from Williams Woods. I strive to provide the safe, happy place a student may need in my classroom like I found when I was a child."

Amanda has been married to another PCHS graduate, Stacy Hamilton, for over 11 years. They have 3 children; Avery, Easton, and Evett.

When Mrs. Hamilton is away from school, she likes to craft, bake (check out Amanda's Sweet Shoppe), garden, read, enjoy their farm, decorate, clean, and organize their new house. She says, "I usually can’t sit still long enough to even finish a movie!"

Thank you for making PCR-I your home! We appreciate you!
