PCHS Class of 2023 Senior Spotlight: Tammi Jellison

🥳Senior Spotlight Time!
👩🏼‍🎓Help us congratulate Class of 2023 PCHS Senior, Miss Tammi Jellison!
🤍Tammi is the daughter of Amy and Derrel Jellison.
Tammi's favorite quote: "Some people think that to be strong, is to never feel pain. But in reality, the strongest ones are the ones who feel it, understand it, and accept it."-Unknown
👩🏼‍🏫Tammi has been active in the Upward Bound program through Truman State University, Interact Club and Band.
💙We asked Tammi what her advice would be for incoming freshmen. She said, "Join Upward Bound your sophomore year. You won't regret it. You may not know what you want to do after school when you graduate but they can help set you up for that. Especially if you don't think you can financially afford college, they help you get in easier with less student debt. Another piece of advice is to get involved with your school. You may think some of the things we do here are lame but it's what makes school fun. Join clubs. Go to games and support your classmates. Be there for one another. That's what makes school enjoyable. Get along with each other and be there for one another. Stop putting people down and help pick people up. I would like to add that you may not want to be here every day but if you could just stop and take a breather, notice that not everyone wants to be here. If you need someone to talk to about personal things go to a teacher that you feel like you can trust and just talk to them. That's one of the reasons they are here. They aren't against you, they're here to listen and help you."
😂Tammi's funniest memory from high school was "when Interact let us duct tape Mrs. Owings to the wall. As I was down there she was telling Lucas Hendee that he was not allowed to tape her mouth shut but as soon as we got her good and taped on that wall, Lucas ripped off another piece of duct tape and stuck it right to her mouth. And that same day, Josh Myers gave a speech after he won reader of the month. It was a great day that day!"
👩🏼‍🎓Tammi plans to attend college and get her nursing degree after graduation.
🥧We asked Tammi what her favorite class was at Putnam. She told us, "English because it's always fun and enjoyable in there. Ms. Tosspon always knows how to make something boring, not boring."
💙Tammi says, My most memorable moment at Putnam was the interactions with all of my teachers. I liked how as I grew, the closer I got with all of them. It's definitely a bond that could never be forgotten."
💙We asked Tammi what teacher or staff member at Putnam has had the biggest impact on her and why. She said, "Ms. Tosspon has been one of the biggest impacts on me this year. I'll go in there really sad about something and anything that comes out of her mouth can leave a smile on my face. She works hard and respects all of the students as a whole."

Congratulations, Tammi! We are #PutnamProud of you! #pchsclassof2023 #PutnamProud
