Snowball Fight in the Classroom
Descriptive Writing Exercise
The sixth-grade students were given a picture and asked to write a description for it. The students were required to put as much detail as possible into their writings. When the students finished writing we had a paper snowball fight in the classroom. I think that they enjoyed this part the most. After a few minutes, the students were required to grab a paper and read it. I had the original pictures laying out on a desk. Using the description, the students had to find the correct picture. This was a great way to practice descriptive writing.
