Alert: Important Immunization Information!

The Putnam County Health Department will be coming to school on Wednesday, March 23rd, to administer vaccines to any student 11 years old and older. The vaccines they will be offering are Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Meningococcal ACWY (Meningitis), and Gardasil (HPV Human Papillomavirus). Tdap and Meningitis vaccines are required by Missouri law for all students before beginning their 8th-grade year unless an official Medical or Religious Exemption is on file. An additional dose of the Meningitis vaccine is required after the student turns 16, before beginning their 12th-grade year, unless an official Medical or Religious Exemption is on file. Gardasil is an optional vaccine, not required to be able to attend school.

Information about the vaccines and consent forms were sent home with all 6th, 7th, and 11th graders on Monday. Consent forms need to be returned to school ASAP! Extra copies are located in each office. This clinic is a great opportunity to get these required vaccines completed without the hassle of making an appointment or missing work! Students who fail to meet the immunization requirements are not allowed to attend school in August until proof of immunization is provided or the proper Official Exemption is on file.

Please call Nurse Stephanie at 660-947-3361, ext. 319 or the Putnam County Health Department at 660-947-2429 with any questions!
