Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.
Mrs. Jones' 2nd graders have spent the last 2 weeks learning about MLK Jr. in class. Students were actively engaged in these lessons with lots of questions and wondering why people were treated differently based on the color of their skin. They learned about Martin's peaceful protests, equality, love, peace, and most importantly to treat everyone fairly. After the lessons they created a watercolor portrait of Martin.
