From the Desk of Dr. Halley: Superbowl LV Spirit Week

When it comes to school spirit, you can usually find our students and staff sporting Putnam County Midget gear in blue and white. However, February 1-5, it is time to sport your favorite red and gold and Kansas City Chiefs apparel as we celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs going to the Superbowl for the 2nd year in a row.

Here's how the school district is celebrating:

Mahomes Monday: Wear your hear in a headband or wear your hair as a mohawk.(Teachers, this is a PD day. We can't wait to see your spirit with this one! Students, feel free to have mohawks or headbands on Friday with your KC Chiefs color day.)

Tyreek Tuesday: Wear your favorite cheetah print.

Way Back Wednesday: Represent Kansas City Chief's Coach Andy Reid by dressing like him, or like you're 100 years old, or wear your vintage KC Chiefs gear. Students and staff may wear KC Chiefs hats.

Travis Kelce's Throwback Thursday: Wear 1980s attire.

Red Friday: Wear your favorite KC Chiefs gear or red and gold. You can also dress like Mahomes and sport your best mohawk.

Putnam County R-I Schools invite all of you to join our students and staff in participating in Chiefs Spirit Week and cheering the Kansas City Chiefs on to victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This is a fun way to celebrate the Chiefs' Superbowl repeat appearance and show our Missouri and Putnam pride while having fun learning. Let's go, Chiefs!

*All dress-up days must abide by student dress code guidelines.
