Fractions and Q-Tips
Q-Tips, string, an expo marker, and a couple of pieces of tape is all it takes for students to better understand how fractions can be shown on a number line. Our hands-on learning helped us realize that the spaces between each Q-Tip must be equal. Today’s lesson reminded us that the length of our “whole” makes a difference in what the size of our unit fraction is. It is safe to say that students LOVED today’s fraction lesson.
