In this edition of 60 Seconds with the Super, Dr. Halley provides several school updates.
Thursday, September 30, 2021, our Putnam County Lady Midgets host their big reveal of the newly renovated softball field. Dr. Halley and Mr. Garber will begin grilling at 4:30 pm. Ribbon-Cutting will take place with our PCHS Class of 2022 Seniors cutting the ribbon with Dr. Halley at 5:15 pm. We also have a special guest pitcher, former Lady Midget, and 1998 State Champion pitcher, Lacey Gilworth who will throw out the first pitch at 5:25 pm. Then our GRC Crossover Game begins at 5:30 pm. Our Varsity Football team will travel to Bethany on Friday, October 1, to battle the South Harrison Bulldogs in gridiron action beginning at 7:00 pm.
On Saturday, October 2, it is National Custodian & Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day. Many thanks to our outstanding team of custodians and maintenance workers. We appreciate you! If you would like to join our team, we are still looking for one more superstar to join our maintenance team. Apply today!
Next week is Homecoming! On Monday, October 4, school will not be in session. It is a professional development day for our teachers and staff.
But, the fun begins on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, and all week long. The Homecoming theme this year is "At the Movies" and the dress-up days always bring fun, creativity, and spirit to our school. On Tuesday, it's Bonanza Day. Wear your favorite Cowboy or Western attire. (No weapons allowed.) On Wednesday, roll out of bed in your PJ's and messy hair to enjoy "Bad Hair Day." On Thursday, it's Madagascar Day! Get wild in your animal prints or camoflauge. And on Friday, it's "Friday Night Lights" day as we sport our Homecoming t-shirts or favorite blue and white apparel.
Mr. Todd Hatfield has been selected to honor us as the Grand Marshal this year. We are so excited! Todd is one of the biggest Missouri sports fans around, from the Royals to the Chiefs, the Mizzou Tigers to our Midgets. Todd is as loyal as they come!
The Homecoming assembly will take place on Friday, October 8, at 9:00 am. The parade will begin at 2:00 pm.
