Welcome Back to Putnam, Miss Samantha Shipley!

Help us give a warm Putnam County Welcome Back to one of our own Homegrown Heroes, Miss Samantha Shipley!

"Hello PC!! My name is Samantha Shipley and I am so excited to be teaching and coaching at Putnam County this school year. I was born and raised here in Unionville, where I attended Putnam County R-1 from Pre-K through 12th grade. I was very involved in extracurricular activities all throughout my upbringing and today still cherish the many memories, friendships, and opportunities that PC has brought to me. I cannot wait to share and build on these memories with my fiance Kirk Hendershott, and his two boys, Konner and Kellan, in the same community that helped to shape me.

Following high school, I attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Being a small-town girl, I never imagined myself living or teaching in a city, but knew I needed to mold myself into the best educator and gain experiences that would help me grow professionally. After obtaining a first-grade teaching position in Hallsville, Missouri, I continued my education at Columbia College where I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Coming from a small town, I cherished the small and close-knit community I found at Hallsville R-IV. After three years and the completion of my Master’s program, I found the desire to move closer to home and took a position teaching 2nd grade at Princeton R-V. This will be my fifth year teaching and I am so excited to be coming “Home” to Putnam County.

I will be coaching Junior High Softball and have the opportunity to welcome a new class of Kindergarteners for the upcoming school year. I cannot wait to witness growth and watch these students succeed, both in the classroom and on the softball field! I am a firm believer that there are no peaks in education and there is always learning to be gained. I am excited for the upcoming school year and am confident that my time at PC will be full of fun and even more opportunities for growth for my students and myself as an educator. Go, Midgets!!"

Welcome, Miss Samantha Shipley, Kindergarten Teacher at PCR-I Elementary and Junior High Softball Head Coach!
