Turkeys in Disguise, Opinions, Facts, and More

Our students in first grade have been hard at work. You can find many of our projects displayed in the hallway.  We read aloud "Turkey Trouble" and then the students took home a turkey to disguise. The students did a fantastic job disguising their turkeys!  When they returned to school, they wrote a paper about what they disguised their turkey as and why.

We have also been working on fact families, so the students made candy corn math fact families. We have also been learning more about Opinion Writing. For one assignment, the students were given the choice between ham or turkey for their favorite Thanksgiving meal. Then they wrote out their reasons why they made that particular choice and then restated their opinions. We had so much fun learning in November and are excited to celebrate the holidays! Be sure to check out our photo gallery to view some of our work. Happy Holidays!
