2nd Grade Masters Addition Facts
2nd Grade students have been working really hard on their math facts during R.T.I. time. What is R.T.I., you might ask? It is a time devoted to your student's learning. We work hard on essential skills they must master to be successful students. We work on Reading, Math, and Writing. For the last month, we have had a goal to reach 100 Math Addition Facts in 5 minutes. My group all increased their scores by 30+ completed and CORRECT addition facts. That is AWESOME! We have been playing games and trying to increase our speed. We have been focusing on memorization so that we don't need to use our fingers! The game pictured was played with dice. We rolled our 2 dice, wrote our math equation and tried to get more finished and correct than our partner. It was a huge success and we are very proud of our 2nd graders! I must also add we are very thankful that parents took time out of their nightly routine to do 1 minute or 5 minutes timed tests each night to help too! Keep it up 2nd Grade!
