Missouri Bicentennial Commission Poster Contest

The Missouri Bicentennial Commission is holding a competition to select posters for the bicentennial commemoration. The contest is open to third through twelfth graders in Missouri. Students are asked to interpret the theme: Sharing Missouri’s stories – past, present, and future.

Submissions will be accepted through October 31, 2020. The Commission will select four winning designs – two from the elementary grades (3-6) and two from the secondary grades (7-12). Grade level is based on the 2019-2020 school year.

Complete guidelines and the submission form can be found here: https://missouri2021.org/bicentennial-poster/

I am also attaching a pdf file of the poster competition guidelines.

Here is the important part: Each student needs a sponsoring institution. Sponsoring institutions may include non-profit arts agencies, cultural heritage and educational institutions (e.g. museums and historical societies, 4-H clubs, private and public schools, homeschool networks, etc.) and public libraries. Each institution can sponsor up to four students: two in the elementary category and two in the secondary category. There can be more than one sponsoring institution in a county or community.

If you do not already, I also hope you will consider following Missouri 2021 on Facebook and Instagram @Missouri2021. It is the best method for staying up-to-date on bicentennial-related projects, programs, and events.
