Dear Parents & Guardians:

It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the fourth quarter of school already!  This year is flying by and very soon it will be time for middle school students to take the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade-Level Assessments in grades 6, 7, and 8. This letter is to inform all parents of the testing schedule.  Below is a list of dates for MAP testing.   Attendance is very important during testing, so if at all possible, please avoid routine appointments on the testing dates.  If you know your child will be gone, please contact the school ahead of time.  All tests will be during periods 1 - 3 in the morning.

Students will be testing on their Chromebooks.  We ask that you help remind them to charge it each night before testing and bring the power cord along with the Chromebook with them to school the day of their tests.  Students will also have listening portions on their tests.  If they have headphones or earbuds of their own, please send them with the student on their testing days.  We have a limited number of extras that are available.  However, other electronics are not allowed in the testing room and students are advised to leave cell phones and smartwatches at home while testing.

To lower test anxiety, help your student be organized and prepared the night before.  Other tips for success include getting a good night’s rest, eating a nutritious breakfast, dressing comfortably in layers, arriving at school on time, and having a positive attitude about the test.  As always, breakfast will still be provided, free of charge, to all students.  We are very grateful for the opportunity to educate your children and for the support you provide at home.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Brook Fleshman
