From the Desk of Dr. Halley: 60 Seconds with the Super, September 3, 2021.

In this edition of 60 Seconds with the Super, Dr. Heath Halley provides many updates. Check out the full video to hear them all. Below are the highlights.

  • School will not be in session from September 6-13. (Labor Day, Proposition 2 work to deliver and install HVAC units, new windows in the high school commons, and Professional Development day on Monday, September 13. We will be back in session on Tuesday, September 14.) Reminder: no one is to be on campus from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 8, as that is when our HVAC units will be lifted by helicopter to the roof of the school.
  • HVAC, Doors, and Windows should be completed by the end of next week.
  • Proposition 2 Baseball work is still underway.
  • Softball Proposition 2 work: hopefully, wrapping up soon. There have been several supply chain issues along the way. We are currently awaiting the backstop and netting. Scheduled to be completed by the end of next week. We appreciate all the help along the way and your patience in dealing with the uncontrollable issues that have arisen due to COVID, shortages, supply chain issues, etc.
  • The track is set to be re-sprayed sometime between September 4-15, 2021.
  • Scoreboards are set to be delivered to the installers in the next 10 days.
  • First Day packets were due on Friday, September 3, 2021. If you have not turned your student's packet(s) in yet, please have those completed and turn them in ASAP. In those packets, you will find the Free and Reduced Lunch application. Please fill that out and return it. Even if you know you won't qualify. Every application returned helps our students with scholarships, technology, and more opportunities for funding for our students and school.
  • Due to supply chain shortages, our school menu is likely to change on short notice. We have plenty of food for our students, just not always enough of what we ordered in advance when the menu was created. Thank you for your patience.
  • Please, fill out our survey regarding a 4-day school week and a daycare* facility. You can click on the link here. You can read more about why we are looking into a 4-day school week and a daycare option here. *Daycare would NOT be free. Each parent/family would be responsible for paying for daycare.

Enjoy your time at the Putnam County Fair. Best of luck to all of our students competing in contests. We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday, September 14, with assignments turned in, Chromebooks charged, and ready to learn. See you soon, Midgets!
