Putnam County Elementary School is currently seeking applicants to fill a teaching vacancy in our Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year.
Qualified candidates will be responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, evaluating student progress, and maintaining classroom management to ensure student engagement and learning.

Putnam County R-I is a rural district with approximately 308 students in grades Pk-5. We are located just south of the Iowa border at the junction of State Highways 5 and 136. Our community is fortunate to have some beautiful scenery whether you choose to live in the country, or at our prestigious Lake Thunderhead.
Putnam County has outstanding community support, and it shows in our excellent facilities. PCR-I students are one-to-one with Chromebooks grades 2-12 and all teachers use Google Suite in their classrooms.

The successful candidate should hold a valid Missouri teacher’s certificate in Elementary Education. The start date for this position is early August 2023. Our 2023-2024 base teacher salary was $35,000 with the possibility of a base increase for the 2023-2024 school year.
