Karlie Ingersoll: PCHS Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight

Senior Spotlight time! Help us celebrate Miss Karlie Ingersoll!

Karlie is the daughter of Scott and Sara Ingersoll. 

Her favorite quote is, "It always seems impossible until it's done." - Nelson Mandela

During her high school career, Karlie has been active in Softball, NHS, Interact, FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, SADD, and Student Council.

Some of her high school accomplishments include: Summa Cum Laude, Softball Academic All-State 2019-2021, 1st Team All-District Infield, 2nd Team All-Conference Infield, and Kirksville Daily All-Express Team for Softball.

Karlie's advice for incoming freshmen: "My advice to incoming freshmen is to make sure to stay involved and appreciate the entire high school experience... it doesn't last long."

While at PCHS, Karlie's funniest memory happened her freshman year of softball. She tells us, "We were rehanging the wind-screen after a wind storm when my sister decided to zip tie Guin Anderson to the fence by the loops of her coat. The whole team was in on it and we left her there for 5-10 minutes before the coach figured it out."

After graduation, Karlie plans to attend MACC to finish her Associate's Degree, then transfer to the University of Missouri with the goal of obtaining her Doctorate of Pediatrics. In 5-10 years she sees herself just graduating college and diving head first into her career as a Pediatrician. She hopes to be traveling a lot, and eventually settling down to start a family.

Teacher with the biggest impact on Karlie: "It goes without saying that my mom, Sara Ingersoll, has had the biggest impact on me. Although I didn't have her as a teacher at Putnam, she always helped me to strive for my academic goals. She is also the greatest kindergarten teacher."

Karlie's favorite class while at PCHS: "My favorite class at Putnam was Advertising because I got to be a part of helping several families in time of need. Advertising also pushed me to think outside of the box and be a problem solver."

Most memorable moment: "My most memorable moment at Putnam was winning the Conference Championship with the 2019 Softball Team. That feeling is indescribable and something I will never forget."
