Kora Bain: PCHS Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight

Senior Spotlight time! Help us celebrate Miss Kora Bain!

Kora is the daughter of Eddie and Shannon Bain.

Her favorite quote: "Life's a garden. Dig it!"

During her high school career, Kora has stayed busy with several activities. Those include SADD Secretary, DECA Vice President of Community Service, Senior Class Vice President, Interact Secretary, NHS Vice President, Yearbook, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, Student Council Vice President, and Softball.

Kora's advice for incoming freshmen: "Do not take things for granted and always enjoy every moment in high school. You only get one chance in high school and you never know when you might lose the most important things in life. Make sure to always stay on top of homework and do NOT procrastinate because trust me, it will make things a lot less stressful if you do not."

Kora loves to laugh and her friend Landon Wood is always a good source of laughter. Here's what Kora had to tell us about her funniest memory at Putnam. "My funniest memory from school at Putnam would be the night that all of us friends were hanging out in the school parking lot. I had convinced Mason Pearson to go get his clown masks on and come scare Landon. Long story short, Landon is terrified of clowns and grabbed the smallest person around to protect himself as Mason approached him. If you know Landon, he is the biggest teddy bear you will ever meet but he is not afraid to scream like a little girl when scared."

After graduation, Kora plans to attend Indian Hills Community College to pursue a degree in nursing. In 5-10 years, she sees herself settled down with a family of her own and working her dream job as a nurse.

We asked Kora what teacher or staff member at Putnam has had the biggest impact on her. Kora said, "Mrs. Brook Fleshman has had the biggest impact on me for a number of reasons. I have had Mrs. Fleshman off and on for many years and for many different reasons. She is always so kind-hearted and down-to-earth. When asking for advice about different things in life, she always gives me her best advice, even if I do not want to hear it. When my dad was sick and in the hospital, she was always there for me and always tried to keep me positive. My favorite class at Putnam is Yearbook, just for the simple fact that Mrs. Fleshman is the teacher and because it is a class that I can relax in but still have fun while doing work."

Kora's most memorable moments at Putnam so far: "I cannot specify just one moment, but my two most favorites so far have been watching the basketball and baseball boys make it to state. Being able to sit in the stands and cheer my best friends on has been so exciting. I will lose my voice over and over again just as long as I can be there to cheer them on."

Congratulations, Kora! We are #PutnamProud of you! All the best as you pursue a career in nursing!
