Middle School Character Education Assembly: February 2022

Our February Middle School Character Education Assembly took place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in the Middle School Commons.  The Pledge of Allegiance was started by Bentley McCormack, Junior High Student Council President.

The character trait for the month of February 2022 we recognized was trustworthiness. Webster defines trustworthiness as confidence in the integrity, ability, character, and truthfulness of others.

Character education winners for exemplifying trustworthiness are listed below. These students receive a t-shirt, a concession stand voucher, and a plaque.

  • 6th-Ava Perkins–absent

  • 7th-Matthew Blanchard–absent

  • 8th-Mahlon Gingerich

Our good attitude winners are students who have shown a good attitude in the classroom and amongst their peers. They will receive 2-10 point bonus coupons with their certificate. Thank you for being a great example for everyone at Putnam County R-1.

  • 6th grade-Treyton Trent

  • 7th-Alyssa Anderson

  • 8th-Tayla Turner

February students of the month will receive a certificate, a dog tag that allows them to get into PC events for free for the school year, and a can of pop. Students who receive this award have displayed outstanding behavior, a positive attitude, and have been a great role model for his or her peers. Congratulations to our students of the month:

  • 7th-Isabela Lopez

  • 8th-Chance Phillips

The word of the month for March is cooperation: working positively with others to accomplish a task. This is a much-needed trait for the classroom, interaction with friends, family, and work, and the upcoming Middle School Play, as well as track and field competition. Best of luck to all!

As a reminder, we will not be in school on February 21 in honor of President’s Day.

Our Middle School play will take place in the Middle School Auditorium on March 4th at 6 pm and on March 5th at 3 pm.

On March 18, we will be hosting a Middle School Activity Night from 6:00–9:00 pm. It will be $5 per person to attend. Several fun activities are being planned.

  • Volleyball Tourney, 9 Square, Corn hole, Giant Jenga.

  • Gaming Room run by Mr. Hicks, Just Dance, Video Games.

  • Bingo with prizes, Popcorn Machine, water, and sodas.

Reminder: keep your grades up to be eligible to participate in Track and Field. Also, be sure to turn your paperwork in.

Congratulations to Mrs. Tennill! She has completed her website article every month of her first year of teaching so far and was recognized for being our Middle School Communications Rookie of the Year! Way to lead by example, Mrs. Tennill!

Reminder: if you do not keep your grades up, you will be making them up in summer school.

Congratulations to our second quarter honor roll:
