Putnam County FFA Summer Activity Re-cap
As the 2021-2022 school year begins, FFA members have had the opportunity to attend chapter and area events toward the end of the summer. Our first event was the Annual Putnam County FFA Chapter Summer Picnic. It was held on August 3rd from 6-8 pm at the North Beach at Lake Thunderhead. Members got to participate in games such as volleyball, football, and swimming; followed by a meal and a short meeting. There were approximately 35 members in attendance.
On August 5th, our chapter traveled to Long Branch Lake in Macon, Mo to compete in Area III FFA Battle of the Chapters. Here, members got to participate in games such as volleyball, tug of war, inner tube races, and a sandcastle contest. Ten FFA members attended, including Vanessa Bondy who helped coordinate the event while serving as the Area III FFA Secretary.
Our last summer activity took place on August 7th. Ten FFA members offered a helping hand at the Lucerne fair food stand, waiting on customers and preparing their food and drinks.
The first activity to take place during the new school year will be the Putnam County Fair. Each year, FFA members volunteer their time to work at the fair food stand. This year, our chapter will work the food stand on Wednesday, September 8th from 1-6 pm. Members get the chance to see what FFA is about and how important it is to be involved in our chapter through activities such as these.
