Local Stenographer Visits Vocational Classes
The business department had the pleasure of having Madison Rowland visit their classroom on Thursday, April 15. She shared her story of how she came across the profession as a stenographer and how she received her Associates in Realtime Court Reporting at Des Moines Area Community College, which then led her to be hired as the Court Recorder for the 9th Circuit Court. Miss Rowland demonstrated how her stenotype machine as well as sharing some stories of work in Polk County, Iowa, for the district court and then moving to Missouri and being the recorder for the 9th Circuit for Judge Tschannen. The students were thoroughly intrigued by her presentation and had great questions to ask, as well as her sister and Putnam student Grace R. It was great having her!
