Field Trip Updates

Dear Parent/Guardians,

It is nearing the end of February which means class field trips are quickly approaching.  Our teachers work hard to schedule fun, learning, and interactive trips for our students. In the past, parents have attended field trips with us.  Due to new laws regarding chaperones, we will no longer be asking for parent chaperones on class field trips. While I know that is disappointing to many of you, we are still planning fun trips for our students with safety as a priority.  We will plan to have enough school staff members on each trip, so that we may continue to go to these fun places. I would encourage you to use this as a learning experience for yourself and for your students. While you may be missing out on the experience with them, it will provide a great time for communication with your students after the fact.  They will be able to tell you all about their trips and you may wish to visit some of these locations as a family.

We do appreciate your continued support of our school.  We have had numerous parents volunteer to chaperone in the past. We appreciate your willingness to do so.

Also, just a reminder that student fines/fees and lunch accounts may not have greater than a $50.00 balance in order to be allowed to attend a field trip.  Fifth-grade students must have a zero balance in order to attend as this is their last year in elementary.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in these matters!

Sincerely,

Donna Altiser

Elementary Principal
