Great Conversations!
It is great to be back at school enjoying the kids’ holiday break stories with so many happy and excited kids! When students are telling me about events, I listen for many things. I listen for the sequence of events, the important details, the elaboration of details, and the responses to my questions on the topic. I also ask them to summarize or tell me the most important part of their event. These are great ways to build conversation and writing skills in children. Keep them talking and ask questions!
