March 7 is Job Shadow Day!

March 7th is Junior Job Shadow Day!

Thankfully, our school allows the junior class one day each year to get out into the world to check out fields of interest as they are making decisions for their futures.

With parent/guardian permission, students in past years have shadowed doctors, lawyers, insurance agents, state representatives, college coaches, diesel mechanics, machinists and numerous other professions all over Missouri and southern Iowa.

The two pieces of signed/acknowledged paperwork are due this Friday, March 1st, to allow teachers a few days notice as to how many students will be excused from classes in search of their careers. The piece is parent/guardian permission to participate, and the second piece is signed acknowledgment from the professional they will shadow.

While some students will come back excited and sure of their path, others will determine it was not what they thought that particular career would entail. Both findings will have served the purpose of the day!
