This week the 4th-grade students began to learn to play the recorder. In classes leading up to playing the recorder, students have been diligently learning how to read rhythms and learn the letter names of each note. It is so important for the 4th-grade students to have a good foundation in reading rhythms and notes because you have to combine those skills and then do all of the work to play an instrument. I am proud of how hard each student has been working and I know they will all be successful musicians with their recorders.
