Middle and High School Band and Choir Christmas Concert

Congratulations to Mrs. Booth and middle and high school choir and band students for a wonderful Christmas performance!  Special thanks to the guest conductor, Mrs. Waugh, and accompanist, Glenda Dinwiddie for all their help with the middle and high school choir.

The high school choir performed a variety of songs, which included, “Alleluia”, “O Holy Night”, and “I Saw Three Ships.” The high school choir then combined with middle school choir to perform “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Silent Night”. They finished with their favorite, “A Bit of Holiday Cheer” by Teena Chin, that included almost every Christmas carol.

The 6th-grade band, in their first performance ever, performed a couple pieces of music, “
Up On The Housetop”, “Jingle Bells”, and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Their favorite piece to perform was “Santa’s Angry Elves”, by Rob Grice. 7th and 8th-grade band members performed a selection of Christmas classics as well, which included, “Joy!”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, and “Angels We Have Heard on High.”

The high school band ended the evening with a number of Christmastime hits that included, “A Christmas Festival” and the “Ukrainian Bell Carol.” One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of the piece, “Christmas Star”, from the movie “Home Alone 2; Lost in New York.” Finally, for the grand finale, the middle school band joined the high school band to perform, “Christmas Time is Here”, from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Congratulations again to the middle school and high school choir and band students!
