Interact Scavenger Hunt

Eight Interact members participated in a scavenger hunt Monday evening.  Members raced around Unionville after solving clues about local landmarks and civic organizations.  Representatives from the Historical Society, Bargain Barn, Food Pantry, PC Café, Library, Health Department, Fair Board, and American Legion informed members of their purpose, projects, and challenges.  After the contest, members met for supper and discussed ways the Interact club could assist the local organizations.

Clues also led members to landmarks in Unionville:  the Living Tree Museum, the Flight 11 Memorial, and the Union Soldier statue on the courthouse lawn, McCalment Gym, the Country Club, the Fallout Shelter at the Post Office, the old Feeder Calf Sale Barn and the Red Schoolhouse at the fairgrounds.  Rotary members provided the transportation, and the evening was capped off with sunset boat rides at Lake Thunderhead.

The next Interact event is a club fair for incoming freshmen.  The event will be held at 5:30 Tuesday, August 7, before the Freshmen Orientation.  Door prizes will be given to two lucky freshmen participating in the fair.

Putnam County Interact is a club for high school students interested in service.  The chapter is sponsored by the Unionville Rotary Club and was organized last March.
