6th Grade Math Students Work with Ratios and Rates

Ask your sixth-grade students about ratios and rates. For example, what is the ratio of minutes they spend at school to the number of minutes they spend watching Netflix? At the grocery store, ask them to help find the unit rate of 10 pieces of chicken if the price is fifteen dollars. 

Math truly is all around us in the "real world". It is fun to watch them learn and grow in their math sense!
