During the holidays, there are plenty of special events (programs, trees, shopping) to get kids excited about talking. Try to ask your kids what their favorite part was about Thanksgiving or about their favorite food. While doing holiday activities, describe your surroundings with adjectives/descriptors. Think about how you could grow your child’s vocabulary. And lastly, have conversations about what the holidays are about in your home and possibly share about traditions special to your family. There are plenty of ways this holiday season to nurture language development and create memories along the way.
