For over 30 years, March has been designated by the National Association for Music Education to celebrate Music In Our Schools Month. This month is used to raise awareness of how important music is in education. This month in Putnam County Elementary, we will be focusing on preparing for our Spring Program on April 16, 2019, for Kindergarten, 3rd-Grade, and 4th-Grade. 5th-Grade will continue to learn about the music of Africa, 2nd-Grade will be working on Native American music, and 1st-Grade will keep working on reading rhythms using ta’s and ti-ti’s. This year has been amazing in my classroom. The students at Putnam County Elementary are very talented and willing to learn. I am excited to see how much the students have grown musically by the end of the year.
