Gingerbread fun in Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten has been very busy this month, and this week was no different!  We had a group discussion on how the Gingerbread Boy and Gingerbread Girl books are alike and different.  Without much help from me, they were able to fill in a Venn diagram.  I am so proud of them and their abilities, I had to share (pardon the sloppiness of it, kindergartners throw out ideas pretty fast and it's hard to keep up at times).  I am always in awe and blown away by all their progress and growth.  After our great discussions, we then made gingerbread men.  They were also able to fill our classroom's pom-pom jar and voted for a class party (this is part of our rooms' behavior reward system).  They voted to have a cookie decorating party, and of course, I couldn't resist making the cookies gingerbread boys and girls.  Sadly, I wasn't able to take any pictures of that, but a great time was had by all!
