National Honor Society Inducts 25 New Members

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, the Putnam County chapter of National Honor Society inducted 25 new members.  The candlelight ceremony was held in the Middle School Auditorium, and Mrs. Danyel Fitzpatrick was the featured speaker. Being a member of the National Honor Society is a prestigious honor. Members are chosen that display outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character. NHS members are responsible for hosting the annual Veterans Day Assembly, an annual Blood Drive in January, and other projects the students organize.

2018-2019 officers are: 

President: Whitney R.
Vice President: Guin A.
Secretary: Riley R.
Treasurer: Jaylen W.

 

What are the membership guidelines?

 

Members are chosen on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character, and service.

 

Scholarship:  The cumulative GPA must be 3.5 or higher at the end of the sophomore year.

 

Leadership:  Students are to show evidence of leadership (See examples on the back side)

 

Service:  Prospective members are to show evidence of service to the school and community (see back)

 

Character:  Prospective members are to have good character
