Fifth Grade Rocks!
Fifth grade will be focusing on adding and subtracting decimals in math. In Science, we are classifying animals, making slideshows and studying the Scientific Method. In Social Studies, we are studying different parts of our nation’s history up until the Constitution was signed. We have been reading Esperanza Rising in class and writing fictional narratives which will be on display at parent-teacher conferences.
Last week, we applied the scientific method to an experiment with wet and dry sand. The students had lots of fun working together as a class and making a hypothesis together. I have enjoyed having them all in class and they are looking forward to 5th-grade science!
